Newpin Australia is a collaborative association which supports and guides the development of Newpin in Australia. UnitingCare Burnside staff along with representatives from each Newpin service provider form this association. Additional members such as leading academics, philanthropists and other relevant parties will be invited to become members following consultation and approval.

The role of Newpin Australia:

The aim of the collaborative association is for members to:

• Promote Newpin as an effective national approach to the prevention of child neglect and abuse
• Share contacts, skills and resources for the benefit of Newpin in Australia and support and promote the activities of Newpin to the wider community.
• Facilitate the links between interstate Newpin programs to encourage peer support and learning.
• Influence decision makers to select and support the implementation of Newpin as a preferred service model.
• Provide accessible information on Newpin to the general public, governments, academics and non government organisations.
• Provide guidance and advice regarding the operations of the core components of Newpin.
• Find solutions to any barriers or difficulties that arise in the development of Newpin in Australia.
• Support the on-going quality assurance and accreditation of Newpin programs.
• Liaise with Newpin providers internationally
